Happy Sysadmin Day

In case you did not know it, today is the last Friday in July… and that means it is System Administrator Appreciation Day. And this year, 2020, is the 21st annual celebration of Sysadmin Day!

Let’s face it, most Sysadmins are unsung heroes. If the network is up and running, if performance is optimal, if your transactions are working… that means that the Sysadmin is doing their job. But how often do you thank them just because everything is working well and you can do your job? Probably not very often.

That is what System Administrator Appreciation Day is all about. Take a moment out of your day to thank your local Sysadmins. Yes, plural, because there are probably many of them working tirelessly, day in and day out, to keep the systems running. The hardware and the software that you rely on every day!

And to thank them, why not bring them a nice cup of coffee (instead of that swill in the break room) or a tasty pastry?

They’ll surely appreciate it… and the next time you need to ask them for help that treat you brought them won’t be forgotten!
